Candidate will evaluate, select, and apply standard engineeringmethods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment inmaking adaptations and modifications. Perform assignments, which have clear andspecific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number ofvariables for Control System Engineering; supports the use of common workprocesses and procedures within assigned function across the TOS contract. Performwork, generally within Control System Engineering, which involves thepreparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, plans,investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment with relatively fewcomplex features. Participate in one or more of the following: Development ofsystem requirements. Automated Control System design, development, and/ormaintenance. System design, including concept sketches and layouts. AutomatedControl and Human Machine Interface (HMI) Software Development. Preparation of specificationsand design calculations. Preparing designs, drawings and data under thesupervision of a more experienced engineer. Preparation of engineering studiesand reports. Preparation of material quantity estimates. Uses engineeringcomputer aided design/computer aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools. Systemtroubleshooting and return-to-service. System Verification and Validation TestDevelopment/Execution. Draft letters for replies to vendor correspondence. Monitorschedule for own work. Review design documents of equipment manufacturers orsubcontractors of a low to moderate degree of complexity, and prepare commentsand recommendations. It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE(Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction andcompany policy. Perform other related duties as required.
Required: Candidate can either have a Bachelor’s degreeElectrical Engineering or a related scientific discipline from a regionallyaccredited college or university (ABET accreditation) OR equivalent years ofexperience. Desired: Candidate is desired to have an Active SecretSecurity Clearance, but not required to start. Basic technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineeringcalculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods andmaterials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aideddesign (CAD) tools to engineering problems. Developmental experience such aspractical work experience in design engineering or other relevant types ofengineering such as systems startup, field engineering, or plant operation inlarge industrial plants, utilities, process plants or otherengineering/construction firms. Developmental experience in the control systemtheory and design concepts such as Controls Strategy and Algorithm Development,Math Modeling/Simulations, Calibration, Motion Controls, Process Controls,Process Instrumentation, Sequencing Systems, Robotics, Stability & Control,Servomechanisms, Systems Safety, Networks & Field Busses, Control SystemOptimization, Learning and Rule-based Systems. Coursework or experience in thedesign or application of closed loop control systems. Coursework of experiencein feedback control systems. Coursework or experience in the design ofapplication of control systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Courseworkor experience with proportional, integral, derivative (PID) control systems. Courseworkor experience developing control application and Human Machine Interface (HMI)software. Experience with GE PLC’s, automation hardware, and related softwareis highly desired.
